Verify your social accounts

You can only submit clips posted from an account you've verified. Verifying proves the account is yours: you put a one-time code in its bio.

Verify an account

1. In #verify, tap Verify a social account, or run /verify.
2. Pick TikTok, Instagram or X.
3. Enter your @handle.
4. Copy the code the bot shows you into that account's bio. It looks like VIBECLIP-1A2B3C4D.
5. Save your profile. It must be public.
6. Tap Confirm.

When it works, the bot replies with your handle and follower count: you're clear to submit clips from that account. You can take the code out of your bio afterwards.

Verify every account you post from. There's no limit, and several on the same platform is fine: two TikTok accounts, three Instagram accounts, whatever you post from.

My accounts in #verify lists your handles: the verified ones with their follower count, and any still waiting on its code, with the code, how long until that claim is released, and a Check my bio button right there. Verify another account starts the next one.

If you stop halfway

Added a handle but didn't finish? The bot reminds you after about 10 minutes, with the code and a Check my bio now button you can tap from the DM once the code is in your bio. A second reminder comes at about 45 minutes. At 60 minutes the unfinished handle is released, so it isn't blocked for anyone, and the last message has an Add it again button that starts it over with a fresh code. If your Discord DMs are closed to server members, the same messages come by email.

If Confirm doesn't work

• "I couldn't find the code in the bio yet." Check the code is on that account, saved and public. Wait a few seconds, then tap Confirm again.
• "This account is private, so I can't read its bio." Make the account public, then tap Confirm again. A private account's clips can't be tracked either.
• "I couldn't load your profile right now." The platform is being slow. Wait a minute, then try again.
• "This verification has expired." Start again with Verify a social account.
• "Slow down." You can try 10 times every 10 minutes.

Someone else is verifying your handle

A handle that hasn't been confirmed yet belongs to whoever started on it, for 30 minutes. If someone else started on yours, try again after that: once their 30 minutes are up, you can take it over, and at 60 minutes their unfinished claim is removed anyway. Nobody can confirm a handle without the code in its bio.

Each platform account can be verified by only one Vibe Clip account. If you rename an account, verify the new handle: your clips move with it.
